OUR STORY

Our family of generational farmers have worked on the orchards planted by our ancestors decades ago after Samuel Stokes introduced them in Shimla during the winters of 1916.

Our grandfather Late. Shri Saran Das Thakur planted his first apple saplings in his early 20s and now this orchard nestled in the lap of Nawar valley, brings in the produce from ten different varieties of apples, pears, apricot, plums, cherry and prunes. As a kid every summer vacation I used to visit my grandparents and enjoy the season of apples.

It was in the year 2018, that my father after retiring as controller of Education of H.P, started his agricultural journey and he persued his long lost love in farming. His interest would intrigue me and I started accompanying him to our farms but my job would restrict me from the same. In 2020, while in lockdown I got an opportunity to work from home and see the farming practices up close. In due course of time I learned about how a farmer works 365 days to make his produce worth reaching the market.

So in 2022, I made up my mind to take up apple farming more seriously and help my family and others from our village, run the agriculture business. THE APPLE PICKER ORGANICS is a culmination of all the love and lessons I have learnt by being in the hills. PURE, HOMEGROWN, ORGANIC and HEALTHY are the four pillars we abide by for our produce.
